The DAWG and I

When I was 7, I used to have this little puppy called 'Bobby'. Bobby was a white
puddle toy. He was a friend for life. I used to stick my school ribbon on his forhead,
since its fringe was too long and was unable to see anything at all. I used to grab its
legs and puppeted it to dance with spice girls' songs. At the end, I had to find a broom
to get Bobby out of the corner under the stairs.
As I was 12, when I went to a girl scout camp and had to leave the house for a few
days. But, that was the last time I saw Bobby, before someone handed over to me
a dark plastic bag with his body inside...

My family has moved from Thailand to Sri Lanka in 2008 and I had the oppotunity
to go to this school where all students must require 20 hours of CAS (Community and
service). By that time, i knew nothing about CAS, only that i had to stay after school
on every Thursday and play with kids. But, choosing the CAS was not a very hard
decision. It was 'DAWG' that i have choosen.
My first year with 'DAWG' was easy, no kids, no stress and it was fun. Our biggest
goal was to raise money and supported a sterilization campaign for all dogs and cats in
Battaramula area. As a freshman, it was my job to share ideas of how we could raise the
money and helped out the activities. I was inloved with 'DAWG'.
